Promoting farmland Consolidation that
focuses on production, living environment and ecology .
In the past, when
designing agricultural waterways in farmland Consolidation area,
the focus has always been on mechanized farming and on how to
increase agricultural production; hence, transportation,
irrigation and drainage were often the main goals of the
Consolidation. Farming environment and living quality of farmers
has been improved. For stability of the waterways, concrete trench
was used to replace environmental-friendly earth canals and dry
stone waterways which led to the loss of ecological space.In
recent years, we are more aware of ecology conservation and
demanding on ecology resources and landscape quality. We now need
to aim at integration of life, ecology and life in rural land
readjustment besides improving transportation, water drainage and
water transportation. Multiple pore system engineering and
materials friendly to nature (dry roads and grid frames, etc) are
required to increase space of habitat and environment for foods
for water plants and animals, insects, and birds to indirectly
improve ecology environment, enhance living quality of villagers
for
sustainable use of agriculture resources to reach the ultimate
goal of integration of production, life and ecology.
