    Conducting Urban Land Readjustment is mainly meant to enhance people’s life quality and facilitate sound urban development. From 1973 to May 2011, the Bureau conducted the construction of Urban Land Readjustment for 174 districts, with square measure of 6,157 ha. Zone Expropriation is promoted for the purpose of cooperating with the implementations of important urban development measures for great national construction such as national economic policies, developing new communities, increasing social public interests or special purpose business. From 1994 to MAY 2011, the Bureau conducted the construction of ZoneExpropriation for 33 districts, with square measure of 2,978 ha., including the public construction of Zone Expropriation for the five HSR Station special districts in Taoyuan, Hsinchu, Taichung, Chiayi and Tainan, with square measure of 1,386.10 ha.
