In responding to the recent high frequency intrusion of hackers into government and private websites, and the fire and power supply equipment accidents caused by the machine room infrastructure and environment of the agencies under the Ministry of Interior (MOI), the MOI conducted a selective examination of the information security of related agencies to bolster the security of the machine room facility’s physical environment and the website for external service, reduce information security risks, and assure the continuity of the operation of information and communication services of all agencies.
Director Kuo-Yu Huang of the MOI Information Center led a team consisting of members of the Information Security Section, Machine Operation Section, and Information Security Consulting Section of the Information Center to conduct an on-the-site selective examination on the information security of the Land Consolidation Engineering Bureau on 09/02/2022. The examination covered the inspection of the communication machine room infrastructure and environment of the bureau and related information security enforcement to diagnose potential weaknesses and risks, and propose prevention measures.
The findings from the examination resulted in 13 reminders as stated in the report. The LCEB shall take corrective action to fortify the physical environment of the machine room on the basis of the reminders with continued refinement of its management mechanisms, and organize the machine room infrastructure with resilience in information security.
