I. Project Origination
Public Flood Retention Basin VI External Drainage is situated downstream of Public Flood Retention Basins VI and IX of [Peripheral Land Development along Airport MRT Stations – Business Plan of A7-Station Area Development Project] and functions to discharge drainage for these 2 Retention Basins. The discharge of the sedimentation basins of Public Flood Retention Basins VI and IX on the Wenhua 1st Road converges into Jiulu River under Dapu Bridge on Zhenxing Road after running along Wenhua 1st Road and Zhenxing Road. According to the design principle of the drainage plan of the project, the increased runoff collected from each watershed in the drainage trunk after the development must be regulated by downstream flood retention sedimentation basins before being discharged into the original drainage system.
However, the converging point of the external drainage into Jiulu River was contested by the public multiple times; the point was finally adjusted to be downstream of Dapu Bridge on Zhenxing Road until the Ministry of the Interior convened a mediation meeting to resolve the external drainage issue of Public Flood Retention Basin VI of [Airport MRT A7-Station Public Construction Zone Expropriation]. Currently the external drainage project has constructed to the intermediate section of Zhenxing Road, with another 1,610m yet to be constructed.
Furthermore, when carrying out regulation of the corroded channel of Contract VI, large amounts of waste were encountered on-site and required clean up; it was estimated approximately 18,240cm3 of waste was remaining and needed to be cleared. The remaining items of the project, including sedimentation dredging of flood retention basin, pumping of a sedimentation pool, and management of available land after expropriation, still need to be completed by this contract.
