Area:The engineering expenses and land for agricultural waterways for re-zoning areas of agricultural land completed in the early period (before 1971) of our country, in all, be entertained by the farmers themselves. In order to take care of the financial capability of the farmers as well as the needs of agricultural environment, the facility width of field agricultural roads at that time is but 2.5m to 3m, while road surface is not paved with facility-level ingredient. And due that the parallel waterways has been scoured and unpaired for a long time, and that some functions are damaged, the parallelized waterways are mostly soil-ditch not paved with surfacing or protection works. In recent years, due to the changing of agricultural environments, models of agricultural machineries and vehicles tend to be larger than before. And because of the gradual development of agricultural economics, transportation of motor vehicles also appear to be larger. In order to cope with the needs of scale operation for modern agriculture, the government has, in focus of re-zoning areas of agricultural land completed in the early days, considered that it is necessary to carry out the second re-zoning of agricultural land. As such, it has, in 1988, started to conduct renovation improvement works for agricultural waterways of agricultural land in the early days. Therefore, the department has, from 1988, assisted each county and city government to carry out initial-stage planning, works design, and supervision of works implementation for renovation works of agricultural waterways in re-zoning area from early-day agricultural land. To year 2016, it has, in total, administered 629zones, with a size measuring to 73,916 hectares. The performance was outstanding, receiving tremendous acclamation from various parties of the community for its works.
